Andratx Golf Course

Golf de Andratx is situated in Camp de Mar, a small seaside village in the municipality of Andratx, 28 miles south-west of the island’s capital Palma de Mallorca. A conveniently short 30 minute journey from the airport along with the breathtaking surrounding scenery make Golf de Andratx a firm favourite amongst budding holiday golfers visiting the island.

The well-renowned David Kidd, head architect of Gleneagles Golf, was set the task of integrating a championship golf course into the beautiful mountainous terrain. He proceeded to deliver a truly unique and charming golf course with a number of tranquil lakes, strategically placed bunkers and some unforgettable tee positions. The existing “Marge” – typical Mallorcan stone walls are a common feature on the course providing a real rustic feel as well as a stubborn test of golf to those which take them lightly. The lush green rolling fairways demand an accurate drive while the undulating greens require due attention whilst going for that elusive birdie putt.

Completed in April 2000, with a par of 72 and measuring in at 6089m from the white tees, Golf de Andratx has quickly earned its reputation as one of the best and most challenging courses on the island. A generous mix of tee positions allow for golfers of all abilities to both test and enjoy themselves in the glorious Mallorcan sunshine.

The Halfway House offers a welcome break and a true taste of Mallorca, famous for its delicious tapas and idyllic views. The 18th hole – a par 5 of 436 meters – winds its way back home in front of the 5 star Dorint Hotel with the green sitting in view of the clubhouse terrace. One last good shot over the water is required before the golfer is invited to unwind and relive their round in the prestigious clubhouse, home to the excellent Italian club restaurant CAMPINO.

The signature hole is the longest par 5 in Spain at a whopping 609m from the back tees and fully deserves its name of the ‘Green Monster’. The key to playing the hole successfully is to negotiate the two giant pine trees standing either side of the fairway before attempting the uphill approach shot to a well protected green… Good luck!
