The city of Bordeaux has been designed for easy walking, cycling or even rollerblading if you like. Over the past ten years, the area known to locals as “the Quays” have been redesigned for that purpose. The quays run along the left bank of the River Garonne and are dotted with parks and cycle paths as well as a range of sports amenities (basketball court, skate park, children’s playground etc.). Throughout the year, you’ll find Vcubs (self-service cycles), the BatCub (boats departing from various pontoons in Bordeaux for a cruise on the Garonne) and excellent bus and tram services.
