GOLF
The Heritage Golf Club, a par-72 championship course, was co-designed by the legendary Seve Ballesteros and Jeff Howes and opened for play in 2004. The testing layout is set in the beautiful rolling countryside of Co Laois with the Slieve Bloom Mountains as backdrop and your constant companion over all 18 holes. 5 lakes and a stream meander through the course and brings water into play on 10 holes. 98 beautifully shaped bunkers and 7,000 tress adorn the landscape, which is very gently undulating without any climbing involved.
The variety of tees allows the course to be played from 5,747 to 7,319 yards and the limestone land ensures a magnificent playing surface all year round. In keeping with the best design principles the par-5s are all in different directions and while the par-3 4th and 7th holes are both facing west, the tee shots are from crucially different angles with various challenges to overcome before you get to the green
